Oceanside Artist Meet and Greet June 19th, 2021 11 AM
Esther Boesche will be at the beach in Otterndorf by Cuxhaven during the morning and evening hours of the tide between June 12th and June 2oth 2021 to explore and photograph the ocean floor, for her new project Song of the Sea. There will be an artist meet and great / opportunity to learn about the new project and talk to the artist about her work in New York City and Northern Germany on June 19th at 11 am, on the main beach.
The tide called “Gezeiten” in German language is a natural, moon orchestrated phenomenon in coastal areas that pulls the ocean water back into the ocean for six hours at a time, and allows people to walk inside of the ocean on the ocean floor during the low tide ( German : “Ebbe”) until the water comes back ( high tide / German : “Flut”)
Visitors can walk in the ocean sand and explore the ripples of the sand and traces of the small ocean animals and sand worms during the tide. Walking in the tide is considered a healthy, rejuvenating activity in Northern Germany by Cuxhaven.
